Common in benchrest circles, but not so in hunting; 6PPC.

I use this caliber for more of my culling/hunting.
For Roe deer I am convinved it is the perfect caliber and it works fine on pigs up to, say 45gk and Fallow does. For larger pigs I head shoot, and most of the time I'm meat shooting I'll head shoot with it too.

As Wstrnhuntr signs;
An ounce of accuracy is worth a pound of lead.

Two favorite obscure rifles:

1. M-70 300 H&H.
2. M-98 250 RX--a built for Mauser 98 action length 25/06. Shorter, less shoulder taper. There were six rifles and dies sets made by a group of Lockheed Gun Club members in the 1960's. This one is obscure--it took Fred Huntington nearly 20 minutes to find the chamber drawings when I ordered a set of dies.

Happy hunting [Cool]

carcano91....
sorry, I meant the the .280 Remington
6X57 is the 6mm remington (measure it out baby)
7.03X64.5mm is the .270 win
the norskyblaster is the 6.5x55 swede

perhaps my calculations were off by a bit, but obscurity was requested.
