John Dos Passos wrote once : " It is not all of hunting,to kill". I would highly recommend to you a small book by Aldo Leopold " A Sand County Almanac" which will give you a wealth of philosophical discussion (and very pithy comments) about hunting, Nature and what the progress of "civilization" has done to both. It's available from Oxford University Press,Inc.

"I am a hunter because I am a part of nature, not apart from it. Those who believe that hunting is evil have a perverted view of the way nature works." From the essay, RAINY DAY MUSINGS, in the book, THE LUCKIEST HUNTER ALIVE (George R. Naugle).
