I was wondering if any gunmaker/gunsmith offers barrel inserts of rifle cartridges for 12 guage shotguns.I assume they are used in fair numbers in europe.
What accuracy is expected and what cartridges are offered.Maybe anyone could provide net link. Thanks for info.

Rao,

I have friends who use these inserts, and there are a lot of them available in Europe and in North America.

For example: http://www.mcace.com/

Krieghoff in Germany makes good ones: http://www.krieghoff.de/english/krieghoff.htm Choose "Technics and accessoires" and the "Insert barrels".

What sort of shotgun are you going to use?

Best regards,

Fritz

My father has one in 22 Mag for his rifle-shotgun, turning it into a "bergstutzen". But he doesn't use it much nowadays. The accuracy isn't really on par with a good rifle, but that's probably due to the very short barrel, about 9". The full barrel-length types should be better.

I always thought that a full length one in my side by side would be kind of neat in lke 357 or 44 mag.
