Today is the start of the 2019 deer season in Missouri. Archery, specifically. I didn't indulge as it was 92F and hideous humidity out there.

Instead, I took apart my wood stove so I could stay indoors in the air conditioning. What a mess I have made though. One nasty problem after another but by golly, wood will burn better this winter here.

ours started 2 days before the dove and grouse opener.
I went berry picking and got some odd looks from the road hunters.
I guess they thought I had one down and they all had to look.

Wife shot a small buck last evening.

I shot 5 geese also spent until 10pm processing the deer and geese.

Up early to go bear hunting I wish it was in the 40's instead of being highs in the 70's.

It would have been a lot nicer just rip the hide off the deer and leave it hang.

Indeed, I sure like the cooler weather for seasoning a carcass. All this week here in the Ozarks will be in the mid 90's. Boo.

we been lucky to see 70 with lower 60's more likely the last few weeks.
frost has already been scraped off the windshields.
and the heater is running out in the shop at night.

you guys just need more elevation or sumthin.
