An outfitter I've used in northern BC runs a trap line in the winter, and makes a pile of skinned animals about 125 yards across the river. A few years ago, he shot a totally black Wolf off the bait. The Canada Fish & Game came and weighed it...206 lbs. It was the largest they'd ever heard of.

The only wolf I've seen her in WI was all black and it was not one of these little 80 lb. wolves and was much larger than any in the pack I've seen in Canada. If it was any less than 140-150 I'd be shocked.

I have seen lots of wolves here in Wis from young pups to very big ones from far the north to the middle of the state.

They have ranged from soild colored ones to multi colored ones.

Hopefully we will have a hunting season on them before I get to old. Roll Eyes

Any state with wolves needs a hunting season.

The more noise you guys in the upper midwest make, the better your chances. You cannot leave it up to the game and fish, they just follow orders. If your in a club, start pestering your congressmen/women. If your not, call, email or write them. Don't stop! The anti's won't stop and they are why your not killing them right now. Each year that passes, each wolf will kill more game, more livestock, more pets and more...? Become a professional pest. One thing a politician can't stand is anyone butting in their greedy plans. Good luck guys, I hope you can shoot them sooner than later.

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."
