He turned 12 this winter.. will be hunting deer in northern Idaho this fall..so grandpa whipped him up a 6.5x55 to start with.. got an A&B barrel. 21 inches long, light profile, chopped down the old Turk stock to reasonable facimile of a sporter.. new bolt handle and low swing safety, d&t for weaver bases.. put on a 3-9 scope of unknown manufacture..sighted in at 100 yds this morning.. bullets seem to get along with each other okay... inch and a half apart.. called Keaton, and he is excited to see and shoot it.. Les, Is he close enough by to get some shooting time with you this summer? It would be nice if he could put a few shots at some rockchucks or something before heading after deer.

I'll be spending a couple of months up there this summer.. might be able to take a little time off kokanie fishing to take him squirrel shooting down around Bovill.. 6.5 otta do a squirrel...dontcha think?? Les
