I have a Camo MOBU Dura-Touch stock off a SS 7WSM on it's way. I want to put this stock on my Classic SS 7WSM that is the earlier plain black synth stock.. As I understand it, the only hardware that won't make the switch over is the floorplate/trigger guard assy.. can some one give me some more insight of the parts I'll need to get this little project up and running..

Then it's off to the classifieds for parts...

Thanks all..

Mike,
The Classic Stainless Synthetic Model 70's, regardless of vintage, have the two-piece all stainless steel bottom metal. Your new Camo stock is inletted for the newer style one-piece bottom metal, which is alloy with a stainless steel floorplate.

If I recall correctly, the two-piece bottom metal won't work with the newer one-piece style stock, although the one-piece bottom metal could be used on a two-piece style stock, with a bit of modification to the stock.

I think in your situation, I would consider going with the new Williams one-piece bottom metal, it is machined stainless steel, with the in-the-bow floorplate release (Oberndorf style). Unless you want the lighter weight of the factory alloy bottom metal, the Williams would be the class act! Good luck however you decide to go! Smiler

Hmmm... I like the weight savings idea... After all.. These MOBU stocks are not exactly works of art.. Wink

Thanks Mudstud..

Now to find someone who replaced their factory one piece with the Williams.. Btw.. Do you know roughly what a williams goes for?? (just in case ya-know)
