Picked up a new Browning X-Bolt Carbon Fiber long Range hunter........

This will be my fourth 270 WSM

First was a Kimber 8400 back when I played Kimber Roulette.

The Winchester High Wall in 270 WSM is of the few I have a few regrets letting them follow someone else home......

Loaded it with 130 gr. Nosler Ballistic Tips.

Also had a Nosler M48 Custom Sporter, but it went down the road too.

So here's one I just picked up. I'm a rifle slut and the carbon fiber and 26" barrel caught my eye.

Browning X-Bolt Carbon fiber long range hunter, 270 WSM.

I've had a number of Browning Rifles, and all I've owned have been shooters.

gonna try some 150 gr. Bergers and some 150 Gr. long range Accubonds tomorrow, see how they fly. Figure I'll load both over about 66 gr. Magpro.

May get the chance to pop a porker opening weekend, want to be ready.

JAFO,

GWB

If that one shoots half as good as my Dad's X-Bolt in 280 Rem, those hogs don't stand a chance. That's a pretty wild looking rifle you got there Geedubya, me likey.

6 lbs., 9 oz sans scope and rings according to the Browning Specs.

so lets see
6 lbs 9 0z for rifle
18 oz for Nikon Monarch 4-16 x 42
6.4 ounces for X-lock medium rings

should be 8 lbs 1.4 ounces.

not what my scale reads...........

However if you were to add the 4 ounces that the 300 win mag or 7mm,is reported to weigh,(6 lbs 13 oz., then if my math is right the calculated weight would be 8 lbs. 5.4 oz, closer to what my scale reads.

quien sabe,

saw this.........

I called browning this afternoon for you. (Yes, I am just a nice guy.)

I asked about item 035240218, the X-Bolt stainless stalker carbon fiber in 308. Its a "coating". The underlying base is a hard plastic ("polymer composite") and the carbon fiber is a shell which is applied in a similar process to the stock similar to the camo patterns.

Hope that helps (although I'm guessing thats not the answer you were hoping for.)

As I thought when I saw the coating statement.

I have an X Bolt in .308 that is stunningly accurate. I love to gong shoot at 500 yards with it.
