There is NO such thing as a quiet muzzle brake, PERIOD. Dont let anyone or any manufacture try to tell you different. They all increase the noise level

Very true. Some brakes are not as loud as others but to reduce recoil they redirect gases rearward or sideways which does increase the noise.

Kongy, get yourself a PAST recoil pad. That has nothing to do with being a "Sissy". IMHO, it has to with being smart. Nobody shoots a rifle that hurts as well as one that does not hurt. One can train to accept more recoil, but choice #1 is still to stop the hurt, that way you'll be willing to train more and become a better shot. Get a PAST, they are only about $20 plus shipping to the UK - maybe $30 all together??

I use a PAST to shoot all centerfires above .22 cal from the bench. Even in summer when shooting in a T-shirt, I'm never sore from a range session.
