I have tried both nosler and barnes in my sako 300 rum. I found the barnes more accurate, but definetly will NOT be using them for hunting. Rick.

Doc, i wish i knew how to put picture's on here , it would explain thing's a lot better. Seeing as i don't have access to balistic gel up here in canada. I have been shooting at our range and recovering the bullet's out of the dirt bank. The barnes bullet's are going through 3/4" plywood and then lodging into the dirt, 1/2 the barnes bullet's did not even perform and the other 1/2 mushroomed slightly. The accu-bond's on the other hand had complete mushroom, and even a few went to shrapnel(from small stone's) I just do not feel comfortable using the barnes, they remind me of the Failsafe bullet. I have wittnessed 2 bull moose shot with failsafe bullet's from a 300 winny and it was not impressive at all. (no expansion)I am not for taking shoulder shot's so i will be using the accu-bond's, if you are one who shoot's moose through both shoulder's than the barnes would be the right choice, just my opinion. I have used the TXS's on deer, hogs, goat, Oryx, and have seen no problem at all with their performance.Wood and dirt is not a good medium for prediting bullet performance on game. _____________________________________________________ A 9mm may expand to a larger diameter, but a 45 ain't going to shrink Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing had happened. - Winston Churchill
