Does anyone have a suggested load for a plainsgame round in 308 Norma Mag? I have new Norma brass and Federal 215 Gold Match primers. ALLEN W. No, I don't have a load, but I think both the .308 and .358 Norma Magnums are terrific cartridges.

Just took a large Tx hog with my 308 Norma. 165 Accubond over a max load of Rl-22. Based on the wound on the hog I would take it to the plains in a heartbeat. If I was going after Eland I would opt for a 180 at least. Kudu and less the 165 would do fine. As usual just my $.02 Paul K

I shoot a 30-338 Win. (for all practical purposes the same as 308 Norma) with 200 grain bullet and a max load of IMR 4350. Minute of angle at 1000 yards. If the rifle did not weigh 15 pounds I would not hesitate to use it on any plainsgame with the above load.
