Saw one of these at the Gunshow in Belton Texas yesterday. It would have been nice to have except it had a plastic floorplate. What's up with that?

For several months CZ put plastic floorplates on the CZ 550s, but there was such a public backlash that the company halted this practise. For folks who bought CZs with the plastic floorplates, CZ-USA would replace, for free, the plastic floorplate for a steel one. Just curious, what was the price on that fullstock in 7x57mm. CZ stopped producing the full stock in 7x57mm and to come across one today at a decent price is rare indeed. I hope you didn't pass on it only because it had the plastic floorplate. Tom Purdom

I passed because I don't have any money. It was in the $600.00 range and was new in the box so I guess that is not that bad. If I had 5 $100 bills I think I could get serious consideration.

I had a 7x64 in the FS and I was not that sold on it. I like low scope mounts. I sold it.

Sorry to hear it was a money issue. My brother and a friend of his each own CZ 550 Full Stocks in 7x57mm. One had a steel floor plate and the other a plastic one. I took the plastic one off and sent it off to CZ-USA (I was living in New Mexico at the time) and they sent a steel one back. Both are exceptional shooters. I believe the reason the mounts are high is because Americans shoot with their cheeks welded to the stocks, heads down, hence the low mounts, and the Europeans shoot with their heads up, hence the high mounts and bolts built to accomodate high mounts. Man, that was one long, run-on sentence.

I think it has more to do with stock design.the american style stock is made to accomadate scope use.

Nope.. european shooting is head upright, JAW on stock (cz hogback) american is cheekweld.

I have a CZ 550 full stock in 7X57.
I put a set of warn rings on it, You can get them in a low style , I cant remember what they cost me, not much.
I have the origional box and the plastic floor plate.
I supose I should call CZ and get the steel one , but I really don't use mine much.
It shoots great with 160 grain bullets well under MOA , and with lighter 140 and 150 grainers it is just a shade over MOA.
It has a couple scratches on it but its a fine rifle, if someone wanted it bad enough to pay 600.00 I might just sell it !
Ya see I want a .260, and I boom sticks picture of his ss ruger 350 Rem, mag has caused a shamfull reaction almost like a porn movie, With those cool back up sights I would never use but want anyway !
If you want the CZ PM ME I,might just sell it. ..tj3006

Steve, I am so sorry that I did not respond to your question. I thought this post pretty well died and then a fellow on another forum said he was trying to locate a factory production rifle in 7x57mm, so I looked this post up and saw your question. To answer, as far as I know they do, but I do not know for certain. If you want me to, I'll call tomorrow to ask and post the results here. Tom Purdom ...
