Crum I started this thread back in 2006- since then I have or have had the 9.3x62 in several rifles- all good. I just heard Ruger will offer the caliber in the Hawkeye- and CZ will have a kevlar stocked carbine in a few months- looks like the caliber is really catching on. ______________________________ "Are you gonna pull them pistols,...or whistle Dixie??" Kabluewy I prefer using new Win 458 brass but 338 will work. You need the use of a small lathe. 1/ chuck a case with the head and approx 1/4 inch of the case protruding from the chuck. Cut the belt off the case. 2/ Reduce the rim to std x64 size. 3/ Deepen the extractor cut slightly and use a X64 shellholder as a "GO" guage.4/ When sizing the case it is best to use at least 2 steps. I made a simple die that starts necking the case to approx 41 cal. If you have a set of 416 Taylor dies they would work or you could shorten a 416 Rem die. Next step is the X64 FL size die. 5/ Prime load and shoot. If you use 338 brass you may have to trim necks to even them up. It does not take that long to modify the case and they work just as well as factory made X64 cases. | |||
