350 Rigby Mag

RJohnson350 Rigby Mag
I'm looking at a M70 pre 64 built in '54 that the barrel is ruined, it is a 300 H&H.
Would the 350 Rigby work with just a re-barrel job? I cant find a drawing for it anywhere, but believe it the same length and similar base diameter.

Idaho Sharpshooterput a liner in it and have a new bore in 300H&H.

Or sell it to me and build one on a Mauser...the M70 is not a proper "old school" rifle for that classic british medium bore.

dedsevenRJohnson,
I have sent an email regarding your post to your public email address listed on you profile. Please check it. As you can see, you will need to convert from metric to "natural".

RJohnsonThe gun was reemed out to 300 weatherby, and I'm not a fan of weatherby anything. Plus I have always wanted a 350 Rigby, would make a great elk and plains game rifle.
I know it's not a Mauser but the price is right, and would be good enough for me.
from the drawing that dedseven emailed me it looks like it has a rebated rim of .457 and OAL of 3.57 and the 300 H&H has a .532, I'm not sure if that will work.
Might just go with the 375 HH.

boom sticktake the barrel off, use it as a anti robery device. buy a 375 h+h chambered barrel and a gunsmith should install blue tune for what $300 and the barrel will cost $250.
i like the non typical 350 rigby. is says class. how many 375's out there??? answer lots. thats fine but not for moi

The .350 has a rim of .522, and the .300 a rim of .529. Theese are the actual measurements of the cartridges of my collection.
It shold work fine, if anything You need a new extractor, shaped to correct dimentions.
It is a beauty. Buy some brass from Jamison, and never look back!

Last night I relized I read the wrong measurement on the case drawing.
So hopefully by this fall I will have a completed rifle with 24" shilen, quarter rib, barrel band front sight, classic dark claro walnut stock, ebony cap, steel grip cap, london red recoil pad, and Schmidt & Bender 1.5-6x42.
Dont know if I want a sunny hill drop mag or not, what do you guys think? I do plan on having the bottom metal engraved with english scroll or banknote with a lion or sable in bulino.

Paul HYes I built a 350 Rigby several years ago, and it's a fine round. The rim is indeed smaller in dia than the belted mag case. Also the extractor groove is deeper. I've used betram brass, it's junk, and have converted 375 H&H brass, and that's a royal PITA. I might have to get some Jamison brass, $1.50 a case is fairly reasonable, at least compared to the other options.
350 rigby 250 hornady rn, 350 rigby 250 sp, 35 whelen ackley 250 A-frame, 350 rem mag 225 Sierra.
My cheapy 350 on a VZ-24.

boom, I'm afraid we're going to have to stage an intervention on you. The sugar laced lattes appear to be getting out of hand.
