I guess I’m a bit biased with the Winchester M70s. I can’t think of a better workhorse than a CRF 30-06 or .270 that should last for generations. Shop for one with better than average wood and it should be a great classic to pass on, and it won’t break the bank. Just my opinion, Jim

Bucko, thank you for compliment. I guess this as all my fault. I was only trying to steer this thread back on track and got into it with floppy. I even posted pictures to help our members who have trouble with words. I'll post no more on this thread. My apologies to most of you. Terry -------------------------------------------- Well, other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

You bet Terry. Not to stir anything up again but I honestly can see both yours and Flippers points. I tend to agree with him that it is the memories and the use that creates a heirloom, but by damned you also opened my eyes to another angle. When a person puts enough time and effort, and yes I can see love in your work it is also making an emotional and personal investment in a firearm. So personally I think that your both right, and probably would get along well if you ever had the chance to meet. I would not mind meeting either of you. (When I was a kid my father used to tell me that God hated a coward, I finally realized he has even less use for a fool.)
