I was wondering if any of you guys knew where I could get an Adams and Bennet barrel for my Rem. 700 in .270? Time for a new one. Thanks.

I haven't seen one.

But if someone wants a A&B 300WSM for a 700 they have "1" left for $45.

As usual just my $.02

I have used A&B barrels on several mausers, bought 'em when they were on sale, have had mixed results.. some shoot wonderfully, others not so good. I've had much more consistant results with E.R.Shaw.. slightly more, but worth it IMHO.. $147 delivered for a Chrome-moly and $200 for the SS. threaded and either short chambered or fulllength chambered for your action.. HTH.. .Les

Why stop there? Spend $40 more for an Excellent Lothar Walther barrel and forget the so-so ER Shaw stuff.

I would be looking for a Rem 700 take off barrel. Just as good as an A&B and gunsmiths have lots of them. I bet most gunsmiths would install a takeoff for little more than the labor cost.

Before I did that though - I would clean the one I had very well, with an ammonia based cleaner and see if that fixed it up.

Midway does not sell Remington 700 barrels other than Shilen.

If you are not wanting to spend a lot of money but still get a decent bbl, get a Douglas. You could probably get one for under $200 easy.

Try looking on eBay for a .270 Winchester barrel. Harder kicking calibers like a .270 or a 30-06 stand a good chance of having been shot very little.

The 30-06 Remington take-off barrel I had installed on a Turkish Mauser will shoot under an inch if/when I do my part and the ammo is up to par. Not bad for a $50 barrel...
