My two gun battery for about 10 years consisted of a 243 and a 308. I hunted everything from jack rabbits to elk and never needed anything else. When doing a catridge comparison I always look at the availible bullets. For a medium capacity case I really like that 210 Partition, dependable giant killer, nice BC for a little better range. The 210 TSX is a good one too. I hear the the .258 200 Hornady SP is a good one too but... still prefer the .338s. I tried to like the .325WSM, just couldn't. Too much powder for the downrange effect, IE: low BC bullets. Ideal short action combo for me might be a .260/7mm08, and either .338F/.300WSM. With an extra .223 rifle on the side. All but the .223 varmint/target gun wearing 2-7 scopes. Since you have the 7mm/08 and the .300WSM my pick is .338F. Easy feeding, not too much recoil, good range and large game effect with the right bullet choice. | |||
