Bushnell makes a very nice 3 x 9 with mil dots and a 40 mm reticle. I paid $99.00 for it in the states. I am sure it is available in Canada, via Bushnell since they are big up there.

It is in their Trophy line and I have had one on a 300Win MAG for a while that did just fine.

Other wise, maybe we could just mail one across the border?
