It is a 30-30. I have another (340 model) that was my first deer hunting rifle. Right now I will use it mainly for target practice. When my daughter gets old enough it will become her deer hunting rifle.

| I took a 340 in 22 hornet cut it down to make a light weight short trapping rifle.
16.25 inch barrel very reshaped stock cut to the bare minimum straight grip large hole cut in to butt stock weigh in under six pounds
Then foolishly sold it to my brother in law. |

| I have used Dura Coat in the past with excellent results. The folks at Dura Coat told me it takes two to three weeks to cure completly depending on local weather conditions. I put my rifle in the safe for a few weeks when finished, it has held up very good. Your rifle looks great, good job! |
