How good are these? What Twist do they have 1:16 ?

Best rifle I have! Yes it does have a 1 in 16 inch twist. I personally have not heard anyone say on here (or anywhere else)that they had one that wouldn't shoot either. Mine shoots factory 200 gr. into 1 1/4" groups and handloads 1" and under. That's with 225 gr. TSX's and RL-15. I have some 250 gr. hornady's loaded up but haven't made it to the range with them yet. Can't go wrong with a VX III 2.5-8 and talley light weight rings on it. ![]() Straight shootin to ya

I have no experience with a 35 Whelen, but I do have a 700 CDL (in 30-06) and I recommend it as a rifle make and model. "How's that whole 'hopey-changey' thing working out for ya?"

I just got a CDL in 35 Whelen. I'll have to say, it has restored my faith in Remington. This is the nicest rifle I've seen from Rem. After I free floated the barrel (don't ask how it shot before it was floated) and adjusted the trigger, I'm gettting 3/4in groups with 225 gr Ballistic tips over IMR 4064. I have some 225gr Partitions and 250 gr Hornadys along with some RL 15 powder that I'm going to test today. I love this rifle and would recommend it to anyone.

I have some 225 gr Accubonds coming to try in my M77 35 Whelen and I too think the CDL is a nice rifle. In fact, I have been eyeing one up at a local shop and if you guys keep talking I will have to dump my lunch money on it.

I own a CDL and like it too. It's also not a 35 whelen. As to the Whelen, it's almost identical to the 9.3 X 62 and it's the one cartridge that is praised the most on AR. It has to have something going for it!! Like others, I'd prefer to see a faster twist but have heard no complaints with Remington's barrel. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery."
