T/C NutM-700 CDL 35 Whelen ?
How good are these? What Twist do they have 1:16 ?

raybassBest rifle I have! Yes it does have a 1 in 16 inch twist. I personally have not heard anyone say on here (or anywhere else)that they had one that wouldn't shoot either. Mine shoots factory 200 gr. into 1 1/4" groups and handloads 1" and under. That's with 225 gr. TSX's and RL-15. I have some 250 gr. hornady's loaded up but haven't made it to the range with them yet. Can't go wrong with a VX III 2.5-8 and talley light weight rings on it.

I know the debate on the slow twist but with tsx's and north forks around I'm not sure you would need heavier bullets. You should be able to "sort out" whatever you need to with the 35 whelen and like you said "One Good Shot Is All I Need."

LE270I have no experience with a 35 Whelen, but I do have a 700 CDL (in 30-06) and I recommend it as a rifle make and model.

br6ppc1I just got a CDL in 35 Whelen. I'll have to say, it has restored my faith in Remington. This is the nicest rifle I've seen from Rem. After I free floated the barrel (don't ask how it shot before it was floated) and adjusted the trigger, I'm gettting 3/4in groups with 225 gr Ballistic tips over IMR 4064. I have some 225gr Partitions and 250 gr Hornadys along with some RL 15 powder that I'm going to test today. I love this rifle and would recommend it to anyone.

Woodrow SI have some 225 gr Accubonds coming to try in my M77 35 Whelen and I too think the CDL is a nice rifle. In fact, I have been eyeing one up at a local shop and if you guys keep talking I will have to dump my lunch money on it.

vapodogI own a CDL and like it too. It's also not a 35 whelen.
As to the Whelen, it's almost identical to the 9.3 X 62 and it's the one cartridge that is praised the most on AR. It has to have something going for it!!
Like others, I'd prefer to see a faster twist but have heard no complaints with Remington's barrel.
