I've just acquired another 338-06. The deal was too good to turn down. Already having a 338-06AI, I was wondering if there were any possibilities of re-boreing to another caliber. The barrel is a good one and barely shot through. Just wondering if any of you had any ideas.

I would not rebore to anything else.

You may consider, rechambering to an AI though. Since you already have one and have all the supplies.

but....
35 Whelen
9.3x62
9.3x64
in no particular order

It would make more sense to rechamber to something else in 338, maybe 338Ruger, even 338winmag if you have the bolt fasce altered.

I've been reading about the .375 Hawk,Thinking about building one instead of a 9.3 x 62. Do you have any experience with cartridge??
Thanks

I'll admit that I had no idea that the 9.3x 63 existed when I did my 375 Whelen.
The one major advantage, to my thinking, is the 30-06 case is plentiful and cheap.

I don't with the 375 hawk but I do with the 376 steyr and they are ballistric twins.

I have taken pigs, axis deer, and brown bear with the 376 steyr.

I had a 338/06 and a 375/06.

Sold the 338 because it was so easy to mix the brass Smiler

300 Hornady RNs are fun.
