Johan, Jeffery: I plainly agree with you. Having a R 93 chambered for a cartridge as the .338 Lapua Magnum is indeed tempting one's fate. We have had enough accidents with magnum cartridges by now. I only hope that the owner will not burden the social security system later. As to the problem described: that the striker of the R 93 can move forward even when the bolt handle is not totally forward, is quite normal. The same is true for the Swiss straight-pull rifles. However, in such a case the striker normally should have only enough energy to dent the primer, not to fire it. The discrepancy between the two bolts does indeed puzzle me. Carcano | ||
