When you guys get new barrels do you send your action in or just order the barrel and take it to your gunsmith?

Sometimes I send the action in to the barrel maker, sometimes I just order the barrel blank, sometimes I order a pre-fitted/chambered barrel for the Smith to fit and finish, sometimes I send the action to the Smith, and have him order the barrel and finish the project.

It depends on several factors, such as the gunsmith's backlog, or whether he has the desired reamer. For unusual chambers, I have had Pac Nor do several installations, which required that I send the action to them for fitting. Sometimes I have ordered pre-chambered, threaded barrels to save time at the gunsmiths shop, and get quicker turnaround.
