Roger, you're right! This thing performs almost exaxtly the same as the 7.62X39 firing a 130 to 140-grain bullet! And pray tell, what are the case dimensions? Is it short enough for the CZ 527?
The case dimensions are 6.8X45mm I would assume the case length being the same as the 5.56 NATO was quite intentional to make sure it would fit and function in the M-16. Just fit it with a new upper for the new cartridge and rock and roll. Just for what it's worth that also means it will fit quite nicely into the CZ527!

Except that the factory ball ammo has a bullet that weighs 115 grains, which in .277" diameter, gives a sectional density of only .214, placing it in the "varmint bullet" category! Seems to me this is another brilliant development that is going to require ever-increasing rifling twists, and ever-longer bullets, just as did the 5.56mm!!
earlier in the year. Basically .250-3000 Savage in an M-16, but with better downrange ballistics than the 7.62X39. It should make the CZ 527 and similar mini-mausers neat little white-tail rigs for out to 250 yards. Once in production I bet they find their way under numerous Christmas trees as that "first deer rifle". I'd buy one in a heart-beat.
