I saw a new CZ 550 american today.
Damn I wanted to but it ! It was a 6.5X55. It had an all new much better stock. Beautifull walnut on this speciman too.
Much trimmer and lighter. Just a hint of a cheek piece, the checkering was very modern, looked like the checkering on the sako and tikka rifles, The little gaps in the pattern.
I liked it a bunch. If the timming was better it would have been mine.
I need a couple scopes and I have reached the self imposed limit on my plastic.
I walked away.
Oh Yea price was good too $569.00

Yeah, I bought a 30-06 a few weeks ago. Much nicer looking stock. But made in the Czech Republic and put the US supplier out in the cold.

The CZ 550's(large bore) have a regular safty, forward to fire. The CZ 527(small Bore) have the backwards safty, forward for safe.

That looks like the one I saw.
I forgot to mention the logo on the grip cap.
Its stamped in, and I could do with out it.
I hope they produce one like that in 7mmAG and or 300Win.
The one I saw was 100.00 cheaper,
I hate to see the american prodcer get screwd too, but its clearly a better stock...tj3006

And CZ has finally learned about free floating the barrel. A dollar bill won't touch the stock on my 30-06 all the way back to the receiver.
