If you had these bullets to choose from, with a 358 norma, what would be your choice for 10-250 yd moose bear and caribou? 200 Gr. SP (Hornady Interlock) 200 Gr. Barnes X 225 Gr. The 250 grs Swift A-Frame. I`ve used it for several years in my Norma Mag. You didn`t list the 225 grs Barnes X?

I'd be tempted to see how the 200 gr. X-bullet shot, and if it didn't, any of the 250 gr. bullets would get the nod. JMO, Dutch.

For lighter game the 250 gr partion. For heavier or dangerous game the 250 A-Frame.

I'd go with any of the last three, and whichever of them shot the most accurately. At 2700-2800 fps they are plenty flat for 300 yds, and are also stout enough to exit a moose on a close up broad side shot. If you're interested in plinking loads, I just got a 260 gr .358" mold, should be a dandy for whelens, Norma's and Rigby's.

Paul, When might some of those 260 grainers be available to me? And how much $$? Thanks. Jerry/AK

quote:Jerry, I have some in the car for you to try out, didn't you get my e-mail? I need to make a proper top punch, and find out the best sizing/lubing for the bullet, I'll be testing them this week. I'm thinking $12/100 or $50/500.
