That is extremely surprising. It's the only article I've seen like that. Generally others have seen 50-100 fps loss with 150 grain bullets and more as the bullets get heavier. Seems like there is minimal loss with 150s.

Yah, check his caveats. All of his Re15 loads are over max in all of the books I have. The 150 load by a full 2 grains. The only book that I recall loading that high is an OLD Speer book. I think he needs to rerun his tests to find out where the magic comes from.

The .308 with a 16.5 inch barrel has to be loaded hot to compete with a 300 SAVAGE with about every load I have tested on my chronograph..and best to shoot only 125 to 150 gr. loads IMO... I traded for a neat little Savage 99F in .308 that had a 16-1/4" barrel some years back, and it was a nice saddle gun, and I really liked it, but didn't show me much more than a 30-30 with most loads, so I traded it off for a 99F with an original 22 inch barrel, still got that one. In all fairness to the .308 caliber, I don't shoot the 99 Savage at max loadings, usually about a grain or two below book max, its saves brass and stays locked up when firing that way! depending on the powder however..
