Just bought one in 30-06 for a little over $700. After playing with it all I can say is WOW it is a well put together rifle. Action smooth the trigger is unbeliveable fit and finnish out standing! Now I hope it shoots as good as it looks.

Be sure to give us a range report when you get a chance.

Enjoy your new rifle,

I bought one of the new FM Model 70 Featherweights in 7-08, and feel as you do.
The load development for this rifle lasted for ONE range outing. The first load I shot with it, after sighting in, measured 1/2" for three shots.

I have one of the new South Carolina FN Model 70 Featherweight Deluxe rifle in .270 WSM. It has Custom Quality wood and shoots lights out. Action is butter smooth. Good shooting.

Nice to hear the new production look good and shoot well. Do the new ones still use the two piece bolt?

Peter ----- I just this morning looked at several of the new Model 70's at Whitakers gun shop in Owensboro Ky. One in particular was a Featherweight Deluxe in .270 WSM that had beautiful wood on it. If you are interested they ship and the number is 270-229-0140. Good luck and good shooting.
