Hi all Looking at a drilling now, with 2 rifle barrels in 8*72R. Anyone here who use that caliber? Is it a 9.3*72R necked down? I have never seen it before. All help is good for me. Cheers all Vegard_dino

Yes, it is the 9,3x72R neecked down, but obsolete for quite some time... Bent Fossdal Reiso 5685 Uggdal Norway

Hi Bent Thanks for the reply. You know why it did end up in a "dark corner"? Is it legal in Norway for deer, roe deer or moose(elg)? Cheers all Vegard_dino

The relatively more modern but still classical 8 mm caliber for a drilling would be 8x57 mm IRS. Also rimmed, bigger "S" bullet size and more modern design of the case. Still, it is quite likely much more older than you are. If you really want something exotic but powerfull, you might try the 8x75 mm RS...

The 8x75R is the 9,3x74 necked down to 8mm, and loaded to quite nice velocities, mutch higher than the 8x57. Bent Fossdal Reiso 5685 Uggdal Norway
