Who all makes factory ammo for this round. My brother, who gets the brand new, never fired after it left the factory $350 CZ 550 American, does not, nor will he handload. He is stuck with factory ammo. I guess the full question is, who makes ammunition for the 9.3x62 and is there any comment about the factory stuff, such as bullet performance and accuracy in your particular rifle. Thanks ... The first group of Sellier & Bellot 286-gr. RN softpoints in my rifle shot into .187", but I never expect to see that again. Afterwards it shot about 1-1.5 MOA. Search for posts on it here -- I remember a a guy who used it in a 550 in Africa with no problems. Also, Graf's has Prvi Partizan. It's cheap, but I haven't tried it or anything other factory ammo.

Norma, RWS and Hertenberg all make 9,3 ammo. Used alot of RWS ammo for buff culls here but of late have been using norma ammo occasionally. I normally handload all my hunting ammo.

Highland AX also manufactures 9.3 x 62 factory ammo - one load only I believe - a 286gn softpoint.

We are apparently getting it here in Australia soon and I have been told it will be reasonably priced in comparison to Norma, RWS etc. Highland brass is already available here and its nearly half the cost of Rws or Lapua if thats any indication.

When he finds that 9.3x62 ammo is not as inexpensive as generic 30-06 and figures that he didn't get such a good deal on the rifle after all ... offer him his original investment. Big Grin

Is highly helpful to handload larger calibers!

You're probably not going to find a lot of factory loaded ammo here in the U.S. for the 9.3x62. It's more of a handloader's cartridge here. I did find Sellier & Bellot ammo at Cabelas. Nosler Ammunition is loading it but it's expensive.

Graf's stocks Lapua 285 grain Mega bullet hunting ammo. It is a very versatile bullet that in my gun shoots like a whiz. Midway also stocks a Lapua load in 270 grains with a non lead bullet. I don't have any experience but it is super accurate. Lapua make terrific ammo and components IMHO. thumb thumb
