boom stickHow twisted are you?
http://www.tiropratico.com/pdf/passi_canne.pdf thought I would share this reference material on rifle twist per manufacturer and cartridge.

SmokinJVery informative chart but I noticed it left out one of the major players in rifles today and that is CZ.

boom stickI think the info might be a bit old but on older rifles the info is good and a good comparison for shopping.

GeedubyaBoomie,
I'd luv' to, but, first you wouldn't believe it if I told you, second, I used to be one of the people your mother warned you about, and finally, this is a PG rated board.

That's definitely not a pretty picture.

Lamartwist is another one of those debated topics...
i think most rifles have too fast of a twist.
a 308 or 06 should be more like 1-11 or even 1-12.
i recently bought a 30 cal 1-14 twist bbl.
and would love to find a 1-12 7mm bbl.
but would also like a 1-6 or7 twist 22 bbl just to try some heavy [90-100 gr] bullets in a swift or 22-250.
i guess it boils down to how long our bullets are [or what they are made from] don't it?

FinmanI am happy that my rifles all have a relatively tight twist:
6.5x55: 1:8' (Walther)
7x57: 1:8' (Pac-Nor)
6mmBR: 1:9' (Border)
204Ruger: 1:12' (that's the only factory -Sako- barrel, all the others are custom)
Never had any problem with any weight bullet apart from the 58gn Vmax in the 6mmBR which came apart due to the speed of the spin...
best wishes,
Finman
better have a gun and not need it than need a gun and not have it....

fgullaChart isnt too accurate, my Savage 99 made in 1950 has a 1-14" twist rate, not a 1-10" that i wish it would have. The 1-10" rate came along in the 70's....
