Nice Gun very impressive Groups and the velocities are pretty darn close to what the 270wsm will do with 130's . It is the most underrated of all the WSM's and comparing it to a 300 wsm is like comparing a 7 rem mag to a 300 win mag. Have/had them both and there is a recoil difference. No difference at all in killing power but more recoil.

Nice post DJpaitles, Im just now getting interested in the WSM. So you guys think the 300 wsm kicks alot more than the 7 wsm? Do you know the mag. box length on that kimber? What kind of recoil pad does kimber put on it? Is it adaquit?

GSP7, The inside dimension of the Kimber magazine box is 3.040", and they come with a 1" Decelorator pad installed. Good luck, Headache

GSP7, I probably couldn't tell the difference in shooting any of the WSM side by side after a normal day at the range - which often includes a 458 Lott. The little kimbers do seem to buck a bit but nothing like a lot of the other stuff I shoot a lot of. The recoil pad on them is excellent as is the stock design but they aren't creampuffs either. If you are recoil sensitive try a normal weight 270 it's still a great round. The WSM's are just newer and fun to play with. Plus I love the Kimber 8400's because they have shot very well for me and fit me nearly perfectly.......DJ
