Going to do some experimenting with a light weight bullet in the .300 WM, and wondering if anyone has gone down that road already with good results. Looking for the best bullet & weight for extreme flat trajectory & good performance on varmints.

i guess it depends on what you deem " good performance".

is it a smooth .308 hole in and out or is it a large red cloud and bits of fur floating down into a pool of blood?

1 says FMJ and 2 say BT.

try the 110 gr hornady v-max. it holds together at 3500 fps in flight. I haven't shot any game with it though. my guess is it will have an explosive effect.

x2 on this one. Although I've never used it in a 300 winnie, it is my go to bullet in .308win and 30-06.
