Leaving aside issues of the length of the action can a 7mm-08 be rechambered to 280 Remington?

I'd have to check a chamber print, but I think the 7-08 has less body taper, and hence you can't re-chamber a 7-08 to .280. But I could be off base. __________________________________________________ The AR series of rounds, ridding the world of 7mm rem mags, one gun at a time.

You could probably do a 280 AI If you think every possible niche has been filled already, thank a wildcatter!

Set the bbl. back 1/2" or so & rechamber. Unless it's a #1, most actions though won't allow the longer round. LIFE IS NOT A SPECTATOR'S SPORT!

You could just rechamber to 7-08AI. That will get you there with bullets up to 140gr, which are ideal for deer in 7mm.

+1 I have a 284, and it is a very excellent round, equalling a 280 in performance in a short action rifle.

Yes it can be rechambered to 280. Just run a reamer through it. Free men should not be subjected to permits, paperwork and taxation in order to carry any firearm. NRA Benefactor
