Assuming stock designs are the same how much more recoil does a 35 whelen, 338-06 or 338 win mag compare to the 30-06. I have an 06 and the recoil does not bother me at all but I of course want a bigger gun ;o)

Recoil is really subjective, but if the rifles were stocked the same & wieghed the same, about 5# more recoil (21 vs 26) for the Whelen or .338-06 (my favorite). The .338WM is going to up the ante to 33-34#. If you can handle an 06, you will have no problem moving up.
