I have a case which is marked 444 Marlin on the headstamp but is .35" longer than standard. It is 2.6" not 2.25"case length. The case is gently tapered to a lead bullet of .40" diameter. Anybody nknow what this might be? It is a R-P mfg case.

I wonder if somebody was able to get some untrimmed 444 brass from Remington to make a wildcat out of?
