All of which either directly contrubutes or aids in all of the time available to create other new stuff.

Vaccines. Without yellow fever, polio and smallpox vaccines, we wouldn't be able to travel to hunt, particularly in the tropics. I seem to recall that smallpox vaccine has been around more than a hundred years, but it, along with typhoid vaccine, is right in there.
