New here ive been searching for the answer but can't seem to find it. I bought a new marlin xl7 at cabelas on sale to use as a coyote gun. I am wondering what factory ammo would be the best and most accurate out of this gun. I am not worried about saving the hides.

I reload and almost never buy factory. So I am not up on all the different ammo, but my go to in the 308 is 150 gr ballistic tips. Also I find that the factory ballistic silvertips in just about any caliber are superb. I usually can't match the velocities of the factory bst's and they are accurate as hell. For my friends that don't reload, thats what I reccomend across the cailber spectrum for deer and hogs. I guarantee they will work on coyotes, especially if your not worried about the hides.
Best,

PS: I shoot a Matthews FX. What do you shoot.

There is no way to know without trying.

Go by 3 brands of different factory ammo and see what works best in your rifle.

I would give the following a try.

Hornady Custom
Federal National Match
Black Hills Match

+1 on what Mike said.

and, I've encountered very few rifles that don't like ballistic tips.

If your shooting yotes or deer buy whats on sale first befor spending $$$$ on premium.

Win. power points and Rem. cor-lokt 150 grn. bullets. Then take the same bullets and kill truckloads of deer and yotes with your new rifle.

There is no reason to spend $30 for a box of yote ammo especially if you are not interested in the hides. Buy cheap, if it doesn't shoot worth a darn then try something else.

Thanks for the replys. I think I will try some cheaper ammo first and if that doesn't work the try better quality.
