I doubt it, but for some time Ive liked the idea of the 300hh simply necked to.338 no other changes, and like it even more in a HagnSingleShot with a 240NF as its party hat.

That would be the .334 OKH.( sort of... the original used bullets fro the .333 Jeffery)
I've done all of my .358 STA from 8mm Rem and .375 H&H W-W brass.

I have the 333 OKH and a good friend has a 334 OKH Mag. It really shoots good, but he uses the same 300 grain slugs as I do from Eley K.
Amazing old rounds, but do you really need one???

AllenBoselyDoes Norma make the brass for Nosler? Or at least some of their brass?
Allen
It's a Mauser thing, you wouldn't understand.

Idaho SharpshooterI dunno about all that stuff, but my 280 Dubiel G&H was smiling when I walked past the gunrack out in the shop.

lhanson8I e-mailed Nosler to find out when they will have it available, they responded Spring 07.

interboatI've heard that CZ will start chambering a rifle in .300 H&H as well. Possibly to be announced at SCI.

DavidCinterboat,
Well I hope that is true!
I could just do with another cz! Keep us posted if you learn more.

DoublegunSince we are on the subject of 300 H&H, what would be an idea bullet/load for hunting the western US for elk and one that would provide a bridge between my 30-06 and my .375? I am shooting a pre-64 M70 with the standard 26" barrel.
Thanks

lhanson8WHELENIZER:
Yes you can, if they are going to carry them. BTW, if you are unaware they recently changed ownership. Which by your location you probablly haven't had the chance to drop by.
Doublegun:
Personally, I'm planning on 200 grain bullets, should have a muzzle velocity 2800-2900fps.

WHELENIZERNo kidding on the new owners at B&B? ( I was there in Aug. of this year while I was home on leave.-bought 300 bucks worth of stuff...) I even bought a bag of H&H brass, Rem. brand. I got a custom H&H on a 721 action, 26" Douglas XX barrel, 1/10 twist, with a Cabella's Alaskan guide 6x20x44 scope on it. I picked up the rifle from Gold Rush Pawn by K-Mart in 99' for 360 bucks before I put $$ into it. I shoot the 190g Hornady btsp over Reloader 19 in this rifle. It's a good mulie/elk load for the longer shots. I filled my cow permit this year with my Whelen and 35 Rem'd some mulie does on the b-tags.( My buddies and I eat a lot of jerky here in the sandbox) When I lived in K-spell I did most of my huntin' in the Thompson River country.

I've used the 200 grain Partition exclusively in my .300 magnums for over ten years while chasing elk. But any 180 gr. or 200 gr. controlled expansion name bullet will work well out of the H&H for elk. Try as many as you can and choose the one that shoots best out of your rifle.

Old Time LC SmithsThat's good news. While on the subject of the 300 H&H. What are your opinions on a Winchester, push feed 300 H&H. I know it' not the preferred CRF. but there is one on GA for $795 including redfield rings and bases. Was thnking about getting this for my teenage son.

I don't think they do. Nosler had a proprietary process that turns out some really fantastic brass. They may have early on, but I think Nosler is making all their own brass now.

DavidReedI bought some Nosler .300 Wby brass that was Norma headstamped brass.

But not in the last six months I assume as Nosler continues to state no 300 H&H until '07.
