I see some Marlin 336 rifles with a 3/4 length magazine and no barrel band. They seem to be older models. I really like the styling. Does anyone know what years these were produced?

A number of 336's have been manufactured in this style. The most recent being the 336D .35 Remington "guide gun". Older rifles include the 336A and 336SC models in 30-30, .35 Rem, and some in .32 special. The current .444 cal and .45-70 rifles (not the "guide gun" carbines) are of this style. The 336A with 24" barrel and half mag was offered as recently as 1983 I believe. Also offered was the M375, a 336 in .375 Winchester caliber. The 336A's have 24" barrels, and the 336SC (sporting carbines) have 20" barrels. A little looking on the auction sites or the used gun racks should turn up several examples of each. They are not rare.
