Can anyone tell me if the newer 85 finnlite still uses the same barrel contour as the older 75 model? I see the lengths have changed slightly but were curious to see where sako made it weight savings from on the new model. Can anyone elaborate on this?

I remember someone posting a video or an article that REALLY detailed the difference between the two. There is a bit of metal gone/shaved in the action, as well as the recoil lugs. If you think every possible niche has been filled already, thank a wildcatter!

Fordnutter, the contour is Slightly smaller on the 85. The whole rifle has been slimmed down. The stock is trimmer and lighter, no palm swell in the grip. A slightly more open grip. The bolt handle itself is smaller. The recoil lugs are different designs, but now real weight savings there. In short it is just a trimmer lighter package across the board. Every damn one I have is an awesome shooter, with little to NO load development. I like them more and more as time goes by, and I am a die hard 75 fan. A finnlight in 85 would be a great package!
