You guys ever test any milsurp ammo? I bought 1000 rds of .308 for 100 bucks - that is 2 bucks a box. Okay out to 200 yards, but not the most accurate. Stuff was made in India. Good for offhand and cycling the bolt. I haven't tested any on paper, but would be curious about the observations of others.

The price is right and it's great for rolling rocks around in a quarry and makes for a lot of fun practice and there's real value in that. If it's boxer primed it can be polished and reloaded as well as any brass and more fun to be had.....however I suspect a berdan here and in which case it's a one pop proposition. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." I've shot Malaysian and Venzualan. The'll group about 1 1/2 to 2" at 100 yds from my bolt gun. Great for offhand practice, as I can't shoot nearly that well. Cheaper then reloading as well. __________________________________________________ The AR series of rounds, ridding the world of 7mm rem mags, one gun at a time.

I have shot a ton of it out of a tactical rifle and FN-FAL it can be good or bad depending upon the manufacture and date. It is cheap pratice ammo and I have knocked over a few coyotes with it

I love the 'better' Milsurp stuff. While I haven't tried the Indian, It gets very poor reviews on the Milsurp boards. I don't think that it'll hurt anything, just not very consistant and hang/miss fires. next time try sportsmans guide the good stuff is about $.20 apiece. capt david "It's not how hard you hit 'em, it's where you hit 'em." I've shot a bunch of Mil. Surp .308 and the only batch that gave me trouble was the CAVIM stuff from Venesuela. The brass was soft and caused the bolt handle to come up hard. It is boxer primed and when modestly reloaded it also made the bolt handle hard to lift. In using it on some of my widcats I got the same result I got rid of that 1000 cases. roger Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! Some never pay and some pay and never reap the reward. I tried several types of surplus 7.62x51 in my pre-64 FWT, but the bolt lifted hard on all of it. I think it may have a tight chamber. Okie John. "The 30-06 works. Period." --Finn Aagaard

I used to buy cases of surplus. Now it just sits in the basement. I don't even use it for getting on the paper anymore. I am now trying to make every shot count.

Buy the English Nato/308 ammo. It is noncorrosve. Good brass and it uses a match bullet. it shot the same as the factory ammo in my Encore. Jim lib*er*al: `li-b(&-)r&l Noun: a person so open minded their brains have fallen out
