I would like to know about experience by members with Barnes 338 TTSX. Especially where impact velocities were over 2700fps.I've had only great experience with Barnes TTSX, TSX, and X, but I hear concerns from time to time about 'small exit holes' in recovered game. It would be nice to hear fuller reports in such cases, like what the wound channel looked like in the first half of the beast, or how far the recovered animal ran and exactly where/how it was hit. the more we learn, the safer we can hunt, especially when there are large beasties in the woods. +-+-+-+-+-+-+ "A well-rounded hunting battery might include: 500 AccRel Nyati, 416 Rigby or 416 Ruger, 375Ruger or 338WM, 308 or 270, 243, 223" -- Conserving creation, hunting the harvest.

Since posting the question, I found the very helpful pictures of Chuck Nelson on another thread in this forum: http://forums.accuratereloadin...3411043/m/3981061321 The pictures help answer some of the questions and are worth studying. (At the moment I use the 225 TTSX at 2800 MuzVel in 338WM, with confidence that it will penetrate whatever is needed.) +-+-+-+-+-+-+ "A well-rounded hunting battery might include: 500 AccRel Nyati, 416 Rigby or 416 Ruger, 375Ruger or 338WM, 308 or 270, 243, 223" -- Conserving creation, hunting the harvest.
