Does anyone have a load that works with this bullet. I have laddered 55.0-57.0 of H4831 and just cannot make it shoot less than moa. Seat at max mag length of 3.38 or .05 off lands. Any help appreciated. This is a .5 rifle with most bullets.

Some rifles just don't like some bullets. Aim for the exit hole

Hi, MG, good to see ya here. I loaded some of these in my No 3 .280 last summer and with Fwt. Krieger at 23", got nice groups and just under 3000 fps. IIRC, old brain, ya know! I am using Magpro and RE-26 now in this rifle, and RE-26 in my KMA .280AI.....THE "mountain rifle" for serious BC backpack hunting. I will dig the ammo out later today and check the actual specs. I loaded to. I love 7mms, the non-magnum ones and .270s are in there too.

barnes manual says -0.065 to get started, and move them back to improve accuracy --- which is also my advice, any rifle that doesn't like mono bullets, move them back -0.005 at a time .. if it doesn't get better by -0.085, the gun may just not like them opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? I have owned half a dozen 280's and one 280 Ackley and a couple 7x64's . IMR 4831 has always been my go to powder to start. RL23 is also very good with heavier bullets. I think the new IMR 4955 could also be good.

I appreciate the input gents. Have loaded a few with various seating depths and see how that works.

Changing primers can make big difference sometimes also. I ran some tests one time on three rifles that "bugholed" specific loads...groups changed from bugholes to 1 1/4" groups by going from BR style primers to standard LR, then mag primers. And...Yes...some rifles just don't like mono's...Neither my 6mm-284 nor 243 Win will shoot Barnes ANY WEIGHT 6mm...starting with a clean BBL or a dirty one. But...my 6 BR UGLY NEF stubby loves the 6 mm Barnes TXS's which are basically FMJ's with the velo in that 16" bbl. LUCK
