Okay, I read most of the comments and was a little surprised at some of the remarks, negative and positive. First of all it is not about testosterone or anything of the sort, for most people with a little knowledge or experience. It is about personal preference. You shoot want you want to shoot and who cares, it's what makes you happy. I shoot a 300 Win Mag because I like the versatility of being able to shoot 100 grain up to 250 grain bullets. I like to know if I do make a shot at 400 yds I retain the energy of what the smaller calibers do at 200 yds. I like knowing if I hit any animal with a good clean shot, it is not geting back up again, hitting in the kill zone doesn't ruin meat. I like knowing I can tone down loads and still get great accuracy. It is easy to find shells, and if you reload everything is abundant. There is alot of gread calibers out there, don't critize or judge what someone else does, they have a right to there own personal opinion. With me it is more about accuracy and 300 Win Mags are darn accurate if you can shoot well. If you have ever done any reading on this particular calber, all reloading manuals, or whatever, it is all pretty positive. All good guns, with good bullets, good shooting, makes good hunting.

Ken Waters 2volume reloading manual had reduced loads for the 300winnie.He listed loads for 3006,308,300savage performance level, using regular jacket bullets and cannister powders. His comment onthe 300winnie was; this mag case seems to respond to reduced loads better than the 300 wtby or most other mag. cases.
