Now that I'm doing the Lazzeroni 8.59 Titan, It's time to start thinking about the next 338 project. Anyone have or shot a 338 Excalibur? Anyone have any clue as to where I would find brass or how/what to make brass from? Thanx in advance. ------------------ Regards, Mark

Pa, I have corresponded with an individual who has one. He paid $4.25 per case from Quality Cartridge. He said the cases are excellent. He had only been firing all cases once before any load work, using H-870 he was getting 3200fps with 250's in a 25" barrel. You can actually come very close to the Excalibur capacity by pushing the shoulder as far forward as you can on the .378 Weath case, same with the Rigby. I received an email from a gent who told me the .338/416 Improved is 40 degree shoulders with a .338 neck and 0.015" taper. That would put it within spitting distance of Excalibur capacity if Load From A Disk wasn't lying to me. ------------------ [This message has been edited by Roger Rothschild (edited 04-27-2002).] [This message has been edited by Roger Rothschild (edited 04-27-2002).]

PAWildcatter, If you want a powerful and accurate cartridge in .338 you can consider the most powerful .338 called 338/50 Talbot Made with a .50 BMG round neck gown to .338. For long distance shooting great and very accurate. See link below http://www.reloadbench.com/cartridges/w33850.html ------------------

338-416 + a little tweaking = 338 Lapua.

Well, actually, I think 338 + 416 = 338 Lapua +. The case is longer, and improved I believe, which will give it more capacity. A bigger boiler makes a more powerful steam locomotive. Not efficient, but more powerful. - Dan

Gents, Thanx for the great feedback on this one. I'm going to convert a Sako TGR=S 338 Lapua to the Lazzeroni 8.59 Titan. All data shows that the Laz will hold +10grs more water than the Lapua. I'm just looking for something to do with this Rigby if I can't sell it. I'm thinking 300 Pegesus or something alomg those lines. BER007 - Great site. Actually, I'm a Moderator on that site. ------------------ Regards, Mark
