Ahhh Gryph... you bring up old and painful memories of when us Ozzie's couldn't own a rifle in a 'military chambering' - 303 had to be converted to 7.7x54 - 303, 30-06, 8mm Mauser were out of the question!!

Somewhere around here Ive got a 70's circa Utah proclimation. If I remember right it was something like 7.00 for a statewide deer permit. That was when public grounds were as good as todays private grounds. My how the times have changed..

I remember those ads well also. Kleins is also the mail order place Lee Harvey Oswald purchased the Italian rifle and scope years later that he shot Kennedy with. I don't imagine they really needed that publicity.

Yeah, and there wasn't a two year wait for a Mulie buck or Antelope tag...

And isn't a Utah Elk bull permit now a once in a lifetime thing? or was that just a moose tag?

I know, kinda like rubbing salt in the wounds? I'll stop now...
