Hard to narrow it to just 3!
Ones I have in the truck most are:
17 HMR
204 Ruger
300 RUM
+ a couple sidearms that STAY in the truck
22 Buckmark
.41 Smith
+ a Contender in super 114 in .222 or 30-30 depending on the season. Oh yeah then the shotguns. Benelli Super 90 for Turkeys and Geese and Kawaguchiya M250 for Grouse and Crows, both in 12 gauge. And then there is the .... Hows that for trying to narrow it to just 3, I did good! God Bless, Louis

My three would be .257 Wby, .270 WSM, .358 STA. I have handled everyting in North America with these. Good shooting.

Three rifles most preferred for all around hunting game for me is H&R-L61RSako-270, Custom Brno/VZ24 9.3x62, and Ruger RSM/375HH. For a fourth one, would go with the Ruger RSI/cal.308

Well it looks like everyone is picking 3 centerfire rifles and not really including shotguns and rimfires. If I get a free shotgun/rimfire on top of my rifle choices, I would probably end up picking:

.270 WSM
7mm-08
.300 Weatherby Mag

You need one to shoot paper targets with economically, one to hunt North American game with, and one for Dangerous game or Africa. Many of the responses don't make any sense to me.They are mistakes you've made and not yet accepted. It's time for your SHOOTING EDUCATION!

Mine is a 4 rifle 12 volt battery.

22 LR Marlin Model 60.
My wifes Model 77 Ruger Ultra-Lite in 257 Roberts.
Model 77 Ruger, "Tang Safety" Model in 35 Whelen.
Interarms Mark X in 375 H&H.

As some one else said, I got rid of several rifles that were either duplicates or that I had stopped using altogether.

My "Go To" rifles are the 375 and the Whelen, in that order.

I do that already never mind .

I can only carry 2 at a time, one for long range and one for short. I never tried to hunt 3 rifles at the same time.
Most of the ime I got to the range with more rifles than the Suburban is worth.

To choose only 3, I'll pretend that a rimfire doesn't count and go with some very versatile numbers.

223 varmints and predators
7-08 medium game
338WM game bigger than black bear

From fox and varmints through roe, red, moose, bear, African PG to buff (if money permits), I guess I alredy have three that fits in the safe:
308 Winchester in Kimber Montana
35 Whelen in Ruger M77
375 Ruger in Ruger Hawkeye.

.22 LR for small game
.458 Win Mag for everything else.

I'd add a .243 if I really had to get a 3-piece battery.

Loaded with 400 grain bullets at 2400 fps, the .458 trajectory actually compares pretty favorably with a .308 out to 300 or so yards, and I'm confident that whetever is shot with it stays shot.

I,like a lot of other guys, have more guns.
The choices vary from hunt to hunt but my 3 would be say for deer: Sav 110......243,
99-Sav-300, Springfield 30-06.
I think the question was geared more to if you only had a choice of 3 what would they be?
Just my $.02.
Happy Holidays to all..........
