What ever happened to the line of cases that were made in the '80's in Canada called the Imperial magnum? They produced cases on the 404 Jeffery improved line that included the 360 Imperial magnum. I had a rifle made by Dennis Olsen that was made up for that round on a classic action. I let a good friend talk me out of it and I think he them sold it. As I recall he was getting 2700 f/s out of the 293 gr. bullets.

I have a 7mmimperial magnum myself. The cartridges never caught on,and faded away quickly after remington introduced the ultramags. The ultramags are built on the same parent case with nearly identical dimensions and ballistics.

I have one case each of the ones they offered. That 360 Imperial magnum sure looks good to me. I have rifles in bothe the 62 and 64 version. All four of them are very nice hunters. I thought about a take down pair in 404 Jeffery and 360 Imperial Magnum would do just fine. Now to find someone that could do the job and it not cost me a fortune. If I take a double rifle pair, Searcy Classic in 375 flanged and 450-400, 3" as well as the take down pair in 404 and 360, I would have infininte variety and plenty of power and only two rifles to register.

My 358-404 is close to the spitting image. And I can approach 2950 fps with a 280g (acedemic; I keep it around 2850.) Been meaning to get a hold of some 310g Wdl for testing.
It is a big case for that diameter, about as small as makes sense to me.
